Momma Hen's Blog Button

I've been working on getting freelance work and it's been picking up more and more every month. I have a couple shops on Etsy.com which is where I got this job. A creative lady named amy aka Momma Hen hired me first to draw her a cute caricature of her for the front of her popular blog, and just had me redesign her blog button. I thought it turned out well and it's different then my normal work, but probably more marketable.

Pin-stripped and painted Helmet

The idea for this helmet was derived by a good friend of mine,
Drew Roberts [ DrewARoberts.com ] and the I designed and executed it.
The helmet was $12 bought off craigslist and pin-stripping paint was used for painting. The designs are inspired by the native art we saw on totem poles on a trip to Canada. I am very proud of the way this turned out. Now all I need is a motorcycle.

Vincent Van Gogh

He wrapped the severed ear in newspaper and handed it to a prostitute named Rachel, asking her to "keep this object carefully"

Tilliescope

This painting is done in acrylic on 48" x 30" board.
I know these dogs well, Tillie and Trixie, and wanted to portray them in their comfort zone, which is in their living room on the sofa.

Collaboration / Photography and Painting

This piece is a collaboration with the photographer Drew Roberts.
He lit and took the photo and I painted in the dress, smoke, peacock head and blood in with acrylic onto the original photo.
It is a new direction and would like to explore it more.

Feeling Corel

I have been trying to learn Corel Painter. I did these in class last night, Digital life taught by Cliff Nielsen, and I think I'm finally getting the hang of it. I found the Sargent Brush tool under the Artist Brushes to work best for how I like to paint.

Oprah

This is an illustration for a song by Atmosphere, Woman With the Tattooed Hands.
I was trying something new for this piece. I rendered her with little squiggly lines in guache.

Illustriative Storytelling

This piece is showing a passing of time, so I painted my friend Dana procrastinating around her attic, and the piece ends with her finally at her desk. There is 2 more images of her lounging around, but I need to work on them a little more.
This is from the story "548". This is the part in the story where this man is getting followed by his old secretary, who he slept with and then fired, and she wants revenge.
I always like to try new styles. I tried to mix a 3d look with flat shapes, patterns, and fun colors.. did I get carried away? I can't tell if it is working or not.
